The City of Grand Forks, the Regional District of the Kootenay Boundary, School District 51, the Phoenix Foundation of the Boundary Communities, and other stakeholders released the Boundary Communities Vital Signs 2014 Report.

As part of the Table Matters Network, The City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver and the District of West Vancouver are working together with Vancouver Coastal Health and lots of great community organizations to improve food security in the North Shore area. A vital part of this great work is looking at food recovery.

A maximum of 25 Age-friendly Community Planning & Project Grants will be available with applications due by October 31, 2014.

Each profile includes information about demographics and health statistics unique to your community, factors that influence community health and well-being and provincial comparisons.

PHABC is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the upcoming Annual PHABC Fall Conference in December 4th and 5th, 2014 at the Sheraton Airport Hotel, Richmond BC.

This year’s Conference title is:

“Shared Prosperity for Health and Well-Being: A Collaborative Dialogue between Business and Public Health”

The conference has a particular focus on how public health leaders and the private or business sector can partner around the mission of creating the conditions for health and well-being for all.

The First Nations Health Authority and the Ministry of Health released the first edition of the BC Elders’ Guide on July 8, 2014. This unique health and lifestyle resource is based on the BC Seniors’ Guide and is specifically designed for First Nations and Aboriginal Elders.
