The 2019 Climate Leaders Institute brings together elected officials across B.C. to learn about local initiatives to combat climate change and gain the skills needed to implement them. 

The Institute is focusing on knowledge sharing, communication, and organizational planning to integrate a climate perspective in every aspect of municipal governance.

Urban Systems and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure are hosting a series of training workshops covering how to implement the practices outlined in the recently-released BC Active Transportation Design Guide.

The 5th annual Nation2Nation Terrace Forums will be held from October 23 to 25, 2019 in Terrace, B.C. 

These forums bring together First Nations, local, provincial, and national governments, and community leaders in B.C. to discuss economic development with First Nations in northwest B.C. The conference will be livestreamed, so you can access the sessions no matter your location.

The Tamarack Institute is holding the Community Change Festival in Richmond, B.C. from September 30th to October 3rd 2019.

The event will bring community leaders and changemakers together to learn how to tackle complex issues in a meaningful way. The Tamarack Learning Centre focuses on integrating 5 Interconnected Practices into community change: collective impact, community engagement, collaborative leadership, community innovation, and evaluating impact.

The Union of BC Municipalities is hosting their annual convention from September 23rd to 27th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The tradeshow component will be held September 25-26 in conjunction with the convention. The theme of this year's convention is Resiliency & Change.

The Regional Outcomes Monitoring Group, a multi-sectoral collaboration, is hosting a FREE 1 day interactive workshop that examines the relationships between planning, design, and public health. Using our newly-released Healthy Housing Action Guide as a starting point, this pre-recorded webinar outlines new government regulations, the UBCM funding program, and some of the ways local governments, health authorities and community partners can integrate health and equity into housing processes in their communities.
